Our exhibit at CES this year was a huge success. Our booth experienced a constant stream of traffic, often with lines of punters 4-5 deeps waiting to try out our little mouse. We had a competition for people who wanted to test their speed and agility of the touchpad against the Swiftpoint and this proved to be very popular with friends trying to beat each others times.

As winners of an Innovations Award, the mouse was showcased in a glass case in the main lobby of the LVCC as this proved to draw a lot of traffic to our booth with curious people wanting to try it out for themselves.

Probably the most rewarding part of the show for me was seeing peoples’ eyes light up as they tried the mouse and discovered all its features. We also had visits from customers who have purchased a Swiftpoint and wanted to come by and meet us, which was awesome.

The media response was also fantastic with lots of reporters taking away review units and publishing some great comments such as:

“…after only a few days the Swiftpoint has not only become my travel mouse of choice, but it’s even starting to encroach on my Apple Mighty Mouse’s territory for day-to-day use.” – OhGizmo!

Post CES the media buzz has continued with the Swiftpoint Mouse featuring in the Wall Street Journal. It was compared with Microsoft and Logitech’s newest travel mice and Swiftpoint came out as the favourite!

CES also provided us with a large number of distributors and resellers wanting to enter in discussions with us. We will keep you posted.

Swiftpoint bound for CES

I can’t quite believe it has come around so soon, but next week, we will be winging our way to Las Vegas to exhibit at CES. We are really excited about attending the show, especially having won a CES Innovations Award in the category of Computer Peripherals Design and Engineering. It is an honour to receive this award and it enables us to demonstrate our mouse at the Innovations Showcase stage at the LVCC lobby Thursday 6th and Friday 7th Jan at 12.45. For those of you attending the show, please come and visit us, either at the Innovations Showcase or at Booth 35346 South Hall 4. We will have a show special running, plus compeitions to win a Swiftpoint Mouse. So come by, it would be great to meet you!

Little Mouse wins Big Accolades

Here at Swiftpoint, we are thrilled that our little mouse has won some fantastic awards in the USA. We are the proud recipients of Popular Science magazine’s “Best of What’s New 2010” and highlighted in their December issue as one of “the greatest 100 creations of the year.” With other award recipients in our category being Toshiba, Adobe and Intel, we feel we are in very good company! In addition to this award, the mouse has also received an “Editor’s Choice” award from ComputerShopper magazine. After reviewing the Swiftpoint, they rated it as the best mobile mouse they had seen and gave it 8.8 out of 10.

Last week the Swiftpoint Mouse was put through its paces by Joanna Stern at Engadget.com. You can view the scorecard and some quotes from the review below. Overall, we are very pleased with the review. As you will know, simply getting a review from Engadget is an achievement in itself and the comments made about the Swiftpoint Mouse are pretty complimentary.

Swiftpoint …took on all the ergonomic issues facing mobile mice with the gadget, and designed it with a pen-like grip so it would feel natural and comfortable for users to pick up.

… natural for us to take our right hand off the keyboard and automatically assume the pen-grip position.

…the red rubber groove for your thumb and black one for your middle finger do feel soft and quite homey.

We like the convenience of just affixing the mouse to the dongle.

..the beauty of the little guy is that it doesn’t have to sit on there too long to charge – our mouse came topped off with juice, so we haven’t had to charge it in the last five days of use.

The mouse itself is extremely easy to setup on both a Mac and PC, and requires no extra software. We just plugged in the USB dongle and we were up and running.

By far our favorite feature is the tilt to scroll. You can simply use your index finger on the scroll wheel, or you can tilt the mouse to the right so the wheel is resting on the palmrest or table and drag it up and down. There’s something about all the movements that remind us of flying some sort of futuristic vehicle.

Swiftpoint has birthed a mouse that’s got the portability and efficiency of a touchpad.

For the touchpad-haters of the world or those who simply despise the touchpad on their laptop, the Swiftpoint does make a really solid alternative — not to mention, the tilt-scrolling is just brilliant.

Ultimately, there’s no denying that there’s nothing quite like it crawling around out there looking to alleviate our touchpad woes.

Swiftpoint Mouse Launches

Hi, and welcome to the Swiftpoint Blog.

It’s an exciting day.

After many months of hard work developing our website, and many years developing and refining the Swiftpoint Mouse, today we released our new breed of mouse, for the world to see.

It’s a great milestone to reach, and a credit to the hard working passionate people at Swiftpoint that made it all possible.

The interest in our little mouse has been huge. We’ve had back to back media interviews since the launch at midnight, and the response has been unanimously positive. Journalists are genuinely excited, and have all asked the same question

‘When can you send me one?”

And it’s only 12 noon, on the day of launch.
